Waiting for Life to Settle

We have had a couple of people ask us if we are going to throw a house warming party and if so, when is it going to be?  The answer to the first part is yes.  We are planning on it.  The answer to the second part is, I don't know.  We are busy for the next couple of weeks and can't seem to find a day that will work with our schedules.  To everyone that wants to come by and see the house, I promise that we haven't forgotten about you.  We want you to come by and see it too.  We are just waiting for life to settle down a little bit.  I will keep everyone posted and let you know when we have come to a decision.  Thank you for your patience and support.  We love you all.

Homeowners

Wednesday we had our walk through.  Thursday we signed papers.  Friday we had a sleep over.  Saturday we moved in.  That's how fast everything went.  Short quick sentences and it was all done.
  • Wednesday was our final walk through.  Wade went over how to take care of a new house and showed us where everything was.
  • Thursday we signed papers and closed.  It could not have gone any smoother than it did.  We signed half the papers we thought that we were going to, and had a few fun surprises along the way.  On the way home from the title company we stopped by Edge Homes and picked up our keys.  At that point it felt a little more real.
  • Friday we started moving a few boxes in and I decided that I wanted to have a sleep over at the new house.  We didn't have furniture or anything there, but I was too excited to not want to stay the night.  We picked up some Cafe Rio and watched Here Comes the Boom on our iPad.  It was a lot of fun.
  • Saturday was the big day.  We woke up early and put out some carpet protector and left for the condo.  It was time to start the real move.  We had everyone meet us at the condo at 11:00.  We were driving to the new house by 11:35.  It only took a half hour to move all of our stuff into the trailer.  It took about half an hour to move everything into the new house too.  We had some awesome help, and not a lot of stuff.
Saturday night we got a lot accomplished.  We got about half of our boxes unpacked, put our bed together, and set up our TV.  We still had no fridge and no blinds, but not to fear. . .  The fridge was delivered Monday and the blinds will be installed in the next couple of days.

It is still a little surreal waking up in the house.  Chris and I think that we are on vacation and that we will be going home in a couple of days.  There's no way that it is real yet, but it is.  It is real, and it is an awesome reality that we are living in.  We are excited to start making new memories and start our new life in Springville.  It is exactly where we need to be at this time in our lives.  Chapter 2 has begun.

Wrapping Up

We have gone down to see the house a few time since I have posted some updated pictures.  We have our bathrooms finished.  We have mirrors, and faucets, and plumbing all done.  We have also had an update to the master shower.  They left it blank for the longest time, and we didn't know what they were planning on doing with it.  We knew that they had to do something because they couldn't leave it as the painted wall.  That would have been a disaster.  We didn't know what they had in mind.  We were happy to see it completed.
The bathroom faucets.

The master shower is complete.

We were also happy to see that our pendant lights had been installed this week.  They look really good and we are happy that they match all of the other lights and hardware.
Pendant lights.

All of our appliances have also been installed.  The look really good with the dark cabinets, and they help bring out some of the black in our counter tops.  Everything looks really good together.  We are really happy with how it all looks.

It looks like Wade has done his walk through.  When we walked in yesterday there was blue tape all over our walls.  The blue tape marks what needs to be fixed.  Big or small.  There was a lot of blue tape.  But that didn't scare us.  It made us happy to see that Wade is super picky on how everything is supposed to look.  That means that we are going to have a perfect house when it is all finished.
Lots of blue tape everywhere.

As you can tell from the picture, the carpet has also been installed.  I am going to take better pictures of it when we go down on Saturday.  They were just finishing up so it didn't look really clean.  There were extra carpet pieces everywhere.  I promise there will be pictures to come.  But you can take my word for it, it looks amazing!  Only 5 days to go.  Here's to the future!
